Iowa Pictures

Finally got the camera working and will update FotoFeed as soon as I can. In the meantime, here’s a shot from the hills north of Dubuque from today:

Looking toward the Mississipppi River

The only thing is, I am so used to the CoolPix 950′s 4:3 aspect ratio — FotoFeed code, templates, etc. are set up to reflect this — and the Pentax delivers 3:2 … of course, this is the same as for 35mm film, so I should be happy. Okay, I’m happy. Sort of. But now I’ll have to futz with a buncha HTML, and everyone who’s using my “Today’s Fotofeed” code will have to adjust their pages, once I decide what the final dimensions will now be.

Update: My brother informs me I can have whatever dimensions I desire if I set the options for the Crop tool in Photoshop. So much to learn, so little time…

Reminds me of the view from a ridge I go running past, on those occasions when I’m visiting family in NE Iowa. Those gently rolling hills, man. Always makes me happy.

That view is from just north of Balltown. Later that day we drove up to Guttenberg and a little farther. My favorite part of Iowa, I’d say, although the opposite end of the state is nice too.
