Now this is very cool: a kick-ass journalist friend of mine from Santa Fe, Denise Kusel, has just taken off on a long solo road trip back East (and elsewhere), and she also built herself a Web site with a blog to let you get to know her better and maybe ride along. It’s called “A Conspiracy of Time,” produced with Apple’s iWeb app. And yes, she’s driving that.
Denise is someone special. I can’t tell you how I know that, but she burns with a hotter flame than most. (Rings like a hammer on an anvil, more like.) The first and only time we’ve ever been together, she met me at a charity art auction wearing a leather bomber jacket. After a brief and bracing introduction, she grabbed my arm and towed me around to meet everyone she knew, introducing me as “my friend John Farr, who writes better than I do!” She was into saying that for a while, when I made her cry once with something I’d written for GRACK!. After meeting her, I understood why it counted for so much.
I have some inkling of what this extended road trip means for her. It isn’t necessarily what you’d think, but maybe she’ll tell us all about it, once she gets underway.

Well, this will be interesting to read. Especially since we met Denise when she was brought home by a friend of ours. When Denise said she was lost and had no money. So we all here in Worcester,Vt. will be looking forward to reading it. Thank you for sharing it. And am sure my friends will be interested in hearing about it too. Since they could write thier own storys about the meeting.LOL
