Good morning, campers. Have you done your exercises yet? I’ve been spending my time looking for ponies in the manure pile. Very unsatisfying. Perhaps today will see some activity in another sphere.
A very rare morning fog…
It’s happening again, though. After all the glory of the rejection of Republican policies by the voters, some Democrats are dragging their heels out of fear of being labeled not Republican enough. From the NY Times, which I would never link to under any circumstances:
For all the sound and fury in the last year, the National Security Agency’s wiretapping program continues uninterrupted, with no definitive action by either Congress or the courts on what, if anything, to do about it, and little chance of a breakthrough in the lame-duck Congress.
While the Democrats have vowed to press for more facts about the operation, they are of mixed minds about additional steps.Some favor an aggressive strategy that would brand the program illegal and move to ban it even as the courts consider its legality. Others are more cautious, emphasizing the rule of law but not giving Republicans the chance to accuse them of depriving the government of important anti-terrorism tools.
Freedoms taken away are almost NEVER restored, a fact of life I’ve known for many years. The damage done to this country in the last six years, aided and abetted by traitorous, gutless, Democratic pols, won’t be repaired in my lifetime, if ever (which I doubt). So after a brief dalliance with looking for love in unlikely places, I’m back to my pre-election stance, namely: the experiment is over and the collective is doomed. Dig it and move on.
Salvation (awareness) is individual and personal. Know this, and no one can ever hurt you.
