This Andrew Harvey interview struck a kind of chord:
See, the power that is doing this to us is coming towards us simultaneously with terrifying destruction and extreme grace and prosperity. The destruction is, in fact, a form of that extreme grace. It’s quite clear that humanity is now terminally ill, and can only be transfigured by a totally shocking revelation of its shadow side. And this is what we’re living through, these shadow sides exploding in every direction because we have done nothing but betray the sacred in us.
Harvey says the world is experiencing “a crucifixion of all the patriarchal systems,” and do they ever need to go (I said that). I haven’t read his book, but you can find it here. See the referenced interview to learn more about the symbolism of the Black Madonna, Kali, and the like. It’s a great stimulus to reflection: “terrifying destruction and extreme grace and prosperity,” now how can that be? Just hold the two together until a fusion quietly appears. My own imagination lit up like a decorated Christmas tree with an intermittent wiring short.
