John Fogerty’s Latest

I’m hearing good things about (most of) the new disc, called “Revival.” Here’s a good article by an obvious fan where I found this: Fogerty singing “Long Dark Night / I Can’t Take it No More” on the Letterman show (link).

Now that’s more like it. Besides being one helluva performer, Fogerty is an outstanding rock songwriter, and what he does with six-syllable phrases in that song is just remarkable. I hope you listened all the way to the end, because the last 45 seconds — the “I Can’t Take it No More” part — are especially satisfying.

Where are the musicians, anyway? I’ve always thought you could fix damn near anything with rock & roll. We need more of it!
