White Stuff [Updated]

Ah yes, the snow. It did come, of course, maybe five inches worth.

This time was different, too. Usually we get the powder stuff, where all you have to do is sneeze to clear off your car. But the ground wasn’t frozen when this storm started. The snow came down and half-melted, then froze solid, and now it’s melting again in the afternoon sun. We’ll likely get some more tomorrow.

Right around the corner

That’s not the most scenic shot, but I picked it because of the bedsprings used for fencing the corral. See ‘em? (Look carefully, they’re in more than one place.)

Earlier today I actually got the truck out of the driveway, Zoroaster be praised. In just a little while I’ll make a Sunday afternoon booze and milk run, dressed in my finest post-Arctic-apocaplypse trash clothes and sporting a nice two-day growth of beard. The world has not yet ended, we must have tequila, champaigne, and milk.

And maybe chocolate-covered cherries. It did snow, after all.

UPDATE: Changed clothes first, bought all of the above plus bagels, organic cream cheese, two cans of mixed nuts, and a box of Bran Flakes. The champaigne is produced here in New Mexico, BTW.
