I took a hike up the mesa just before sundown today because I’d just seen this out the window and knew something was going on:
Rainbow over Pueblo land
Outside, the wind was whipping, but it wasn’t too cold. There was supposed to be a chance of snow showers above 9,500 ft., and sure enough, I caught a glimpse of a tiny bit of of the white stuff on Lobo Peak. That’ll be coming up in a couple of days at FotoFeed, where I’ll be running the “Stormy Sunday” series until I run out of good shots. Yes, the “Weird Rocks” series has been pre-empted due to irrestible natural splendor, and in any case it will certainly return (if there’s one thing New Mexico has in abundance, it’s weird rocks).
I love the way the wind tears the clouds as they drag over the mountaintops. You’ll see some good shots of those as well in the new series.
