Tomorrow is such a historic day that I’m going to just let go and take it all in. Call it July 4th and Xmas in November. I don’t see how I could pay attention to anything else, regardless. We’ve already voted, but I’m addicted to the blogs right now, and tomorrow is going to be a day to remember.
The culture war is over, and nobody much cares who won. (I think I did, of course, but that’s to be expected.) When the campaign began in earnest this spring, I looked at Hillary Clinton and thought, “She’s the same age I am, and I’m too damn old to be president!” Well, then. When I finally listened to Obama, I realized he was something different. Being younger and physically fit was part of it, but there was this spiritual thing, a hint of metaphysical awareness in his emotional balance, that simultaneously excited and reassured. It was as if the gods were signaling that we could finally be happy.
That’s more than enough for me, coinciding as it does with a more blessed state of being in my own sphere — better late than never! (I used to really be a mess, you see, and now there’s just a few things wrong with me. Heh.) Anyway, the country seems to be on the verge of a similar shift, and wouldn’t that be cool?
Big day. Feels good.

i just wonder if the fact that the day after the election is Guy Fawkes Day portends any sort of zesty chaos……..
