My youngest brother turns 54 today! What’s more, he owns an actual house in Austin, Texas and makes a living as a pedicab operator. Can you believe it, he’s lost 30 pounds since taking on (or inventing) this gig. Geez!
Uh… won’t that scare your customers?
Also in the Believe It or Not Dept., the above is the latest picture I have of him. If you can look like that, drive a pedicab, make a living in Austin, and generally be one helluva solid fellow, the gods are on your side. I know they’re on his, just thinking of his wife and kids. He’s also the webmaster for the Austin Cycling Association, so check out the site.
Happy B’day, dude.

Here’s a youtube of Austin’s 2008 Halloween Bike Critical Mass and Parade. Includes the Giant Snake Bike and a local band called Pong — all bike-powered. You can see me riding by after the snake bike at 4′13″.
Hah! GREAT snake, and is that band on a bike-powered platform?
I think that was you with the bat wings.
Yep the band was rolling by pedal power too. Of course they were using batteries to power the amps.
Those weren’t bat wings though. More like BIG black butterfly wings, topped with big tree branches and lots of cobwebs, spiders and blood. I do wish I had a decent photo of the gear. It was BIG. I had folks jumping in front of me all night trying to take my picture.
