Springtime in the Rockies

A little past 10:30 p.m. MDT right now. The wind is blowing pretty hard, it’s 21 degrees F, and everything outside is covered with snow. It’s all fluffy powder and piling up in the wind. Who knows how much? Doesn’t matter. We need the, uh, moisture.

The woodstove is cranking. The hatches are battened down, or would be, if there were any. The old adobe walls are at least 18 inches thick, so nothing budges! They block out almost all the outside sounds, too. The fact that I can hear the wind at all means it must be strong.

Snow… pictures in the a.m., no doubt.

It’s rough out there, indeed. Out on the 1/2 mesa (half way out, half way not) it’s blowing like crazy. Sounds like someone is shoveling sand at my windows. Should make for an interesting morning…
