Miranda Canyon Preserve: Disaster on the Mountain

in Taos

Heh. My earlier posts finally woke the bastards up.

Not necessarily a good thing, as it turns out — metaphysics is a bitch, chilluns! — because the developers finally figured out how to get their site indexed in Google. I’m trying to make up for that by posting lurid propaganda with “Miranda Canyon Preserve” in the title, which ought to help. This is the evil lying website’s meta description [gag]: “The Miranda Canyon Preserve is a proposed subdivision in Taos County, New Mexico , based on the notions of conservation, community, and stewardship.”

AAGHH! You know, if they keep this up, they’re going to make me mad. At least they were accidentally honest enough to say “based on the NOTIONS [sic] of conservation, community, and stewardship.” Oh, they’ve got notions a-plenty, all right.

How do you “conserve” something by destroying it? (Fail!)

How is there “community” in building a development no one in Taos can afford? And what about wrecking the acequia system by mucking with the water table? (Nothing like drilling wells for swimming pools at the top of the watershed in a bleeping desert to blow everything to kingdom come… Fail!)

How can there be “stewardship” in selling off God’s green earth for bulldozing? (TOTAL MAJOR FAIL!)

I invite anyone in favor of this idiocy to argue mightily in the comments and increase my page rank or at least make me smile. You sane folks know what to do: pimp this post and write your own! I also have it on good authority that the goofballs behind this are less than brilliant and don’t have the moola they need yet, so don’t be afraid to stand up and be heard.

They’re going to reap the whirlwind one way or the other, so why not be among the first to give ‘em hell?

Brilliant, just brilliant. Just told the wife about this – another ‘not happy’ camper. Will be keeping my ears and eyes open for how we can protest this ridiculousness…
