We’re on a road trip. I’m very pressed for time right now, but here’s a video to get you started!
Who knew you could do this from a motel room in Nebraska?! Geez, I need to tweak the video (later). There’s lots more of this on tap, please check back later!
UPDATE: Well, America is still here. From Taos heading to Iowa, it starts roughly in Nebraska. Eastern Colorado doesn’t count because it’s still in the West and mostly empty. You Limon folks with the John Wayne mural on the mail drag may qualify, but if you’ve never left Colorado for the Land of Pavement, you don’t know how tenuous your connection to the mothership is.
As for that mothership itself, I can report that it’s taking on water and listing to starboard, because you know what? Farms (in general) aren’t pretty. Coming from a region of mostly “undeveloped” land to where tractors and combines rule makes it plain that agriculture and the wrong kind of cattle raising is devastating to the landscape. And before someone replies that “all that food has to come from somewhere,” let me amend that to “human beings are devastating to the landscape.” There are just too many of us, probably 10 times too many.
This isn’t anything we have to worry about, though. Nature always finds a way!
