Brothers and sisters, I am now officially immune.
Not even Daily Kos, Firedoglake, or people going all Buddhist commando on my ass can divert me from the promised land. The incontrovertible HUMONGOUS failure of the system to produce solutions that most of us cry out for in our hearts is actually a gift… (This also works for dieting, going to church, etc. Hell, just about anything.)
Work that out and watch your spirit soar.

Fishing for Bluegills, I used to have a lot of trouble with turtles swallowing hook, line and sinker. To keep from killing the turtle, I just left it all in the turtle and hoped for the best. Hopefully it was digested and didn’t kill the turtle!

And who are you calling a “progressive”? Do I look like an idiot?! Progressives elected Obama. The failure is a GIFT! Not indigestion, but liberation.
This has got to be the stupidest country on the planet. Stop spending money to blow up brown people in mud huts on the other side of the world and tax the rich, and we could afford single-payer. Give all those rednecks free health care, they’ll buy new trucks and save America, then everybody can go home.
I saw the California governor say that 1 percent of his taxpayers pay 50 percent of state taxes. When the market dropped 50 percent, state revenues dropped 25 percent. I have no great fondness for the rich, but how much do you want to milk them?
Socialism will work wonderfully at first, but when there is not enough left to redistribute, things go to hell. You and I won’t see it but our young people will.
I think there is a subconscious craw clogger in older Americans. For my 70 + years, the Americans have been taught that socialist are enemies. All of our wars were fought with countries whose names contained the words “Socialist Republic”. Except Germany, and they used “National”. Family members, friends, acquaintances all died fighting them. I was part of the Cuban blockade.
The socialist experiment can only happen when the old people die. If Deke Emanuel gets his wish, that may be soon.

Dear Mr. President:
Please find below my suggestion for fixing America ‘s economy.
Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.
You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:
There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force.
Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:
1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings – Unemployment fixed.
2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered – Auto Industry fixed.
3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage – Housing Crisis fixed.
It can’t get any easier than that!
If more money is needed, have all members of Congress pay their taxes…
