That’s not her real name, I’m sure, but she wasn’t wearing a sign.
All I know is that this is probably the nicest horse I’ve ever met. She let me pet her for several minutes, all the while snuffling around all my pockets looking for a treat. I should have had some apples. On the way to where I found her, I passed more fruit trees than I could count.
Just spending a little time with this big, warm beast made me want to learn to ride. From the place shown here, there are trails that one could ride (or walk) all the way to Taos without ever crossing a highway. I’ll bet you could do it in a day and be surrounded by beauty all the way. This is one reason I’m not so worried about the end of the world any more.
