Sangre de Cristos

This is so much fun, I don’t even mind that the camera slipped a bit and tilted the rift valley. (I was holding the camera against the side of a telephone pole.) The stars of this show are on a fairly even keel, anyway.

This is another scenic sweep video, only this time of the mountains just north of Taos. I shot this video today. The view you’ll see is pretty much the view, as far as “what does it look like around Taos?” is concerned. It also just so happened that I had an audio clip from a solo bouzouki jam at least 18 months old that was exactly the same length as the video, so I was powerless to resist. While I was at it, I found a new font to play with and stuck it in the FarrFeed header, too.

And yes, next time I will bring my monopod to hold the camera closer to true vertical. Heh. Today the weather was so nice, I just didn’t give a damn.

Huh? All I got was a video of horses being judged. No scenic sweeps of anything!

A screen appeared with a number of frames at the bottom and a message that said, “This is a private video. If you have been sent this video please make sure you accept the sender’s friend request.”

The first frame was your Sangre de Cristos shot, the rest horse photos. I clicked S de C. and then the play button. The message went away and a blank screen took its place. then absolutely nothing happened for a long time. Forever, so far as I know.

VERY sorry. The default “private” setting in iMovie tripped me up again. It should work now.

The mountain video was fantastic.
I ride dressage, so I enjoyed the horse pics too.

Hi Carol! Was listening just now to Beausoleil’s “Chez Seychelles” and thought of you way down in Loozieanna.

Is this shot from close to your home? Just curious….and again, envious, as my wife and I HAD planned on visiting Taos this week, and was rationalizing not being able to make it by the alledged ‘bad weather soon’ forecasts….obviously NOT TRUE….so now VERY frustrated….and upset that back pain problems AND my job prevented us from seeing such views in person ….BUT on a positive note – Thanks for providing it for those of us stuck elsewhere…..”stuck” in so many ways! “Acceptance” and getting out of my own way are two things I am working on….HA! Steve, I shot that from about a mile away from where we live. It’s a place I may not be able to walk to someday soon, because the Serna Land Grant Association is selling off property there, and people will be putting up fences soon.

Hard to believe, in this economy.

Beautiful JHF! My husband and I just moved to NM last week (Raton). We took a day off from unpacking boxes and drove down to Taos. I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog and I thought of you and your wife while we were exploring the area! My husband and I are so happy to be official residents of NM.

Have only been to Raton a couple of times, but it looked like a fascinating place. Watch out for bears! :-) Congratulations and welcome, too. This is an amazing part of the country.
