Take a Break

in Taos

It’s time for another one of these.

No story this time, just something to enjoy. This is a telephoto view of part of the Talpa valley, on the other side of the Rio Grande del Rancho, with the usual splendor in the background. I took this about three weeks ago. A wider view would the town of Taos just a short distance to the west.

Notice anything? Yup. This is actually a tighter view of the same scene in the giant FotoFeed thumbnail at the top of the sidebars. If you look again, you can almost match the contour of the snowy ridge with the bottom left part of the same feature in the smaller photo.

That is awesome !! One of the things I love about your photos is your ability to actually show the depth and space of the atmosphere.Hard to put into words for me.
I go out on the plains here during a storm and its cloud cover from horizon to horizon….one big gray blob.ughh.
I noticed that on one my last trips out to Taos. It’s amazing to see ABOVE the storms that come through.I’m always wondering ‘why can’t this happen in Kansas?’ lol
Never does though….anyway-
Fotofeed has been my homepage for bout 5 years now because I’m always excited to what new pics are up!!

I know just what you mean about the depth and space. That stuff just KILLS me all the time here. As for FotoFeed, I see I’m a day behind. Will try to remedy that ASAP. :-)

I love following your response to the beauty which surrounds you. I too have essentially organized my life around Being Somewhere Beautiful. In my case, making sure that I will not be pining for the sound of the ocean on my deathbed. Getting it while I can.

Miriam, I intend to do a lot more of that! What you describe amounts to centering for me. It’s what I’m here to do.
