Ten Minutes Ago Outside My Window

in Taos

Thirty-six degrees F. in a stiff wind–that’s snow drifting over Taos Mountain–but what an incredible, exciting weather day. Until this post gets moved farther down, you can see what the mountain looked like earlier today just off to the right. The terrible beauty of Taos, New Mexico…

Hi John,
I love this crazy weather and yesterday and today have been outstanding. Watching the snow and hail yesterday being swirled around by the wind was fascinating and then the sun came out again.
Today the snow cloud, then the loss of sight completely of the mountains both north and south and now bright sun shine again and the mountains are back. The strangest feeling comes over me when the mountains disappear! A sense of loss and sadness.
Happy Easter,

Patsy

Yeah, I know: when the mountains go away, the Paseo looks just like Anywhere, Indiana!

I will probably hate it if we ever move from this location, since the views are so good. This neighborhood is actually higher than most of Taos, and that makes all the difference.
