For some reason, I’ve never done one of these before. But while you’re waiting for me to post again, what’s on your mind?

I miss N.M. and wonder if I’m doing enough marketing for my art..that would be no….those are my thoughts at the moment

That marketing thing is a bitch, for writing, too. I think the important thing is to keep making art/writing. Just do it, you know? Keep getting better, etc.

I see Certain Posts are now missing. I suppose your excuse is, “Under advice of an attorney”?

Ah, you win the prize for noticing, but no prize for the “excuse”!

See, I have posts that will never see the light of day. That’s what the Save As Draft button is for. Once Publish is hit, you should *mean* it.

I appreciate that, really I do, but what is this “should” of which you speak ? :-) I also come back later and edit or delete my own comments, hah!

Just because this man sometimes revokes his written utterances from the public sector doesn’t mean he doesn’t “mean it.” Besides, even if he does remove a post because in retrospect he thinks he “doesn’t mean it,” we all say things we second-guess occasionally, and that’s hard enough to deal with as it is. In this – John’s private forum – shouldn’t he exercise his right to manipulate it as he sees fit – for WHATEVER reason?

John’s blog is like a plantation of which he is the sole proprietor. We commenters can come on at his pleasure and work the soil, but he can give us the boot if he don’t like the crops. And not just us – he gives himself the boot all the time when he don’t like his own crops. That’s just his personal idiosyncrasy, which is sometimes lovable, sometimes maddening. He’s always in progress and always under revision. Sometimes outright convinced of his infallibility, sometimes consumed with self-doubt. Isn’t that about right, Brer John?

Oh, I’ll take that. What’s going on now, however, is utterly sane.

This is all part of John’s plan to encourage readers to partake of his posts promptly, as they never know when they will fall through an inter-dimensional wormhole and never be seen again. ;-)

Partaking of them promptly is a good idea if you want to catch me at my worst! You could say the same for my tweets, which I delete like swatting so many gnats.

I do have second thoughts from time to time, experience growth or temporary enlightenment that makes some things embarrassing, and this is after all my face to the world—so I have every right to deep-six whatever I want, whenever I want. It’s not a book in the library I’ve torn pages from, the blog is a living digital document!

I just hope that whatever is happening will result in a situation that will give John a bit of serenity.

You ain’t the only one hoping that, and yes, by God it will! :-) Mars transiting natal fourth house, look it up. Excellent timing.
